    UAE-UK partnership emphasized in high-level Abu Dhabi meeting

    President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with the UK Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, during a working visit to the UAE. The discussions, held at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, focused on enhancing bilateral relations and exploring opportunities to deepen collaboration between the two nations. The leaders reviewed existing partnerships and outlined pathways to bolster ties further, emphasizing mutual goals of advancing development initiatives that benefit both countries and their citizens. Keir Starmer also conveyed his congratulations to the UAE on its 53rd National Day, known as Eid Al Etihad, expressing his hopes for the nation’s continued progress and prosperity.

    Their discussions highlighted the historical ties between the UAE and the United Kingdom, reaffirming both sides’ commitment to expanding cooperation in the future. The two leaders emphasized the importance of collaboration in addressing shared challenges and achieving common objectives. The talks also delved into key regional and global issues, with a particular focus on developments in the Middle East.

    Both leaders reiterated their dedication to promoting peace, security, and stability at both regional and international levels. They stressed the necessity of resolving conflicts through dialogue and diplomatic engagement. The meeting was attended by senior UAE officials, including Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser, and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. Additional participants included Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun, Advisor to the UAE President; Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation; and Khaldoun Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority.

    Other key attendees were Lieutenant General Issa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, and Mansour Abdullah Khalfan Belhoul, UAE Ambassador to the UK, underscoring the high-level nature of the discussions. This meeting reflects the enduring partnership between the UAE and the UK, reaffirming their shared commitment to fostering collaboration and addressing global challenges through collective efforts.
